Commissioner Oettinger to Open Factories of the Future Conference 2016
EFFRA is pleased to announce that Günther H. Oettinger, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, will officially open the Factories of the Future Conference 2016: Materialising Factories 4.0 (15 & 16 September 2016).
The Commissioner will deliver a keynote address in the opening plenary session of the conference on 15 September. Mr. Oettinger will be joined in the opening plenary by high level speakers from Airbus, FESTO, Siemens and Volvo who will provide their perspective on the future of manufacturing in Europe.
Factories of the Future Conference 2016 with gather over 80 expert speakers and 300 participants from across Europe to discuss the transformation of manufacturing in Europe and explore how this transformation is being realised through the EU’s ‘Factories of the Future’ public-private partnership (PPP).
Earlier this year the Commissioner, along with Vice President Ansip and Commissioner Moedas, launched the European Commission’s communication ‘A European Strategy for Digital Industrial Leadership within a Digital Single Market’, a highly important strategic statement which communication endorsed the work of the ‘Factories of the Future’ PPP. Many of the conference’s sessions will address digitisation, including Digital Technologies and the Factory Floor, Digital Technologies, Networked Factories and Data Security, Liability and Integrity in Connected Factories and High-Performance Computing and Simulation.
Factories of the Future Conference 2016: Materialising Factories 4.0 will take place on 15 and 16 September at the Brussels 44 Center. The conference is organised by EFFRA.
