Established in 1996 in Istanbul, the Sabanci University (SU) ranks among the highly-rated research institutions in Turkey. The University employs more than 700 staff members and teaches 41000 undergraduate and 1100 graduate students. It encompasses a Manufacturing Research Laboratory (MRL), which is involved in R&D activities in machining processes and machine tools. Its research activities are targeted towards achieving high performance and high precision machining with industrial applications.
